SOCIETY FOR PLANT BIOCHEMISTRY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Society is publishing the ‘Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology’ (JPBB) from January 1992. The Editorial board members of JPBB are from different countries led by Dr. R. Srinivasan as the Chief Editor. It has been the endeavour of the society to timely publish the Journal while maintaining its standard and constantly improving its quality. The Journal publishes review articles, research papers, short communications and commentaries in the areas of plant biochemistry, plant molecular biology, microbial and molecular genetics, DNA finger printing, micropropagation, and plant biotechnology including plant genetic engineering, new molecular tools and techniques, genomics and bioinformatics.
The Journal is being Abstracted/Indexed in: Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch), SCOPUS, Google Scholar, CSA, CAB International, Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS, Biotechnology Citation Index, CAB Abstracts, Global Health, IBIDS, Indian Science Abstracts, Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, OCLC, Summon by Serial Solutions.
The latest Thompson Reuters Impact factor of the JPBB is 1.6 (2023) and NAAS Rating is 7.90 (effective from January 2024). The Journal is currently being publishing quarterly (January, April, July, October) by Springer Nature India Pvt. Ltd. and is available on the given link:

Dr. Srinivasan received his MSc and PhD degrees in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, India. He had his post-doctoral training at University of Washington, Seattle and The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, USA. After successfully competing in the Agricultural Research Service examination of 1977, Dr. Srinivasan joined the ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute as a Scientist in 1977. Since then, he has held several positions including Professor of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Project Director of ICAR- National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB), New Delhi (formerly known- ICAR-NRCPB). After superannuation in 2015, he served at ICAR-NIPB as an Emeritus Scientist. Dr. Srinivasan has more than 40 years of research and teaching experience. His research encompasses a unique combination of plant biochemistry, enzymology, molecular biology, transgenic and genomics. Dr. Srinivasan has guided 22 PhD and 06 MSc. students. He has published more than 90 papers in peer reviewed journals.
For his outstanding research contributions Dr. Srinivasan is recipient of several awards and recognitions like: BHU Gold medal; G.V. Joshi Memorial Lecture Award; FAO fellow in the field of Plant Biotechnology at Scripps Research Institute at California, U.S.A; DBT overseas Associate at the Univ. Washington USA, Seattle, USA; UGC Visiting Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at Manipur University; Member of several committees of ICAR.
